More commonly known as the “An easy job of only needing to be defeated by the hero”, the light novels fall under the category of action, comedy, fantasy and harem.
The story features a young man named Nakajima Ryou (From The Simple Job of Only Perishing to the Hero) who is pretty much average to start with but gets reincarnated into the real world once again because of the scheming and planning of the despicable “Demon God” who wants nothing good to ever come to the world.
Nakajima Ryou becomes reincarnated in this new world as the Demon King Vermudol. However, despite luck being in his favour, life throws him a curveball and he ends up being reincarnated into an odd island known as Mazoku continent of a strange country that has fallen into bad straits and is on the brink of becoming consumed in chaos.
The Demon King in The Simple Job of Only Perishing to the Hero Novel decides to solve all of these issues but the greatest problem he faces is the threat of a hero. If the humans of the continent learn that they have a new demon king in their mix they are very likely to send a hero to kill the new demon king.
So, in order to play the role of the anti-hero and save the continent from being completely destroyed, he decides to evade the hero for as long as possible and save the world through his new lousy rule.
