The New Gate is a Manga written by Kazanami Shinogi. The light novel falls under the genres of action, comedy and isekai (fantasy anime). The story revolves around a 21 year old character named Shin. Shin is a samurai and also one of the best players of an online game that eventually turns deadly.
It is because of Shin that a number of players who are tricked and trapped into playing that game are finally spared. However, he somehow ends up in a future, fantasy game world which is 500 years ahead of time when he beats the last of the bosses and helps free all the players of the game.
In this isekai novel, Shin is shown to be among high humans– a term that refers to a race that is much more evolved and progressive in nature as compared to normal human beings in The New Gate Novel. But he does not tell others about him being one. Apart from Shin, there are a total of six other high humans.
These include Cain, Hecate, Cook, Cashmere and Reed. Regardless of their extremely small number, they are still powerful enough to rule over and form an influence on the rest. High humans, courtesy of their superior nature, also tend to live longer than everyone else.
However, races other than human beings also form a significant part of the world shown in the novel. These include Dragnils, beasts, lords, dwarves, pixies and elves. One of the most prominent elves is Schnee Raizar (From The New Gate Light Novel). This high elf is one of Shin’s support characters, within the game, created by Shin himself.
Shin’s other support characters in the game comprise of Filma Tormeia, Girard Estaria, Shibaid Etraku and Seti Lumiere. All of these characters play a vital role in the isekai novel throughout keeping their significance intact at different instances.
