Risou no Himo Seikatsu is an ongoing light Japanese web novel written by Watanabe Tsunehiko and illustrated by Ayakura Juu. Originally released in 2011, this light novel has had only 11 chapters released so far. The novel has various genres like Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Mature, Romance, Seinen and Slice of Life.
The plot of this novel mainly surrounds the popular category of anime/novel known as Seinen. The word Seinen literally means “Young Adult”. Unlike Shounen, the work of this genre is always meant for the more grown-up adults and more mature audience, not for the otherwise. This is because Seinen features more suggestive themes like ero or gore that really isn’t suitable for the younger audience.
But that doesn’t mean it has the vulgarity of Hentai. Even if it’s adult content, Seinen keeps it’s mostly implicit and mild.
The story of the Risou no Himo Seikatsu surrounds an average man named Yamai Zenjirou, who lives like every other average man in Japan. A salary-man, he lives every day doing his nine-to-five job. One day, he mysteriously gets reincarnated into another world. There he gets summoned by a beautiful woman. She asked him to marry her, which he eventually did since she was one of the royal family and it felt like a chance he couldn’t miss. Now married, she makes Yamai her servant and then the bizarre tale of his life gets started.
The Risou no Himo Seikatsu will be different for everyone. The plot and the characters of the novel might annoy some of the readers but might please others. This a mixed bag of everything so gives this one a shot. You can’t go wrong with a novel this light.
