Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha is an ongoing Japanese web novel by Oka / Okano Yuu and illustrated by Jaian. Initially published in the year 2015, this novel has published over 500 chapters with more to come. The novel comprises of various genres like Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Harem, Mystery, Romance, Seinen, and Supernatural.
The story of this novel mostly moves around the popular genre of Seinen. The word Seinen literally means “Young Adult”. These kinds of novels generally have adult content like ero or gore. Such suggestive themes aren’t meant for younger readers. But that doesn’t make Seinen become the likes of Hentai. It’s far too implicit and mild than those comics.
In Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha, our main protagonist is Rentt Faina, who is a 25-year-old adventurer and a monster hunter who’s been dealing with various kinds of monsters for almost a decade. Rentt grows weary and unhappy with his job of hunting down goblins for nothing but an unsatisfactory amount of coins. Having not much of skills either, he is increasingly fed up of his life.
Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha went on just like this for years until one day, he found himself discovering a mysterious path in the Labyrinth of the Moon’s Reflection. When he got there, he wasn’t welcomed by a treasure chest full of wealth or anything of that sort. Rather it was a dragon, a merciless demon which didn’t think twice swallowing him whole in a flash.
But he didn’t die. He woke up, in a state where wasn’t dead but also wasn’t well to stand either. He was nothing but a pile of bones lying in a nowhere land.
In a situation so pitiful, Rentt picks his new miserable skeletal form up filled with ghoulish looks and starts his new adventure to achieve Existential Evolution. He longs for having his old form back and return to his civilization.
